Chessboard
What size chessboard should I buy?
The right size of chessboard depends on what your goal is. Most people will want to play a game of chess at home and for that purpose chess boards with a field size of 40 mm or 50 mm are very suitable. If you are going to play longer games, we recommend choosing a chessboard with a minimum field size of 50 mm. For competitions, boards with large field sizes are often used. For tournaments, a board with a field size of 60 mm is used.
For learning to play chess, smaller boards of about 35 mm are often used.
If you are travelling, you will opt for a smaller board, often magnetic or with a pin, these chess boards are offered as a set.
